Ranchi, July 4: The Jharkhand High Court today allowed interlocutory petition of former Uttarakhand chief minister T.S.Rawat  demanding deletion of his name from the array of respondents in a  writ petition filed by a journalist Umesh Sharma for quashing an FIR against the latter at Argora police station.

The FIR was filed by a city resident and former BJP leader Amritesh Singh Chouhan in November 2018 alleging Sharma of hatching conspiracy for toppling the Uttarakhand government.

The order came from the court of Justice S.K.Dwivedi after Rawat’s advocate Pandey Neeraj Rai submitted before the court that his client is neither an accused nor an informant in this case and that there is no justification in including his name in the list of respondents.

Advocate Rai also submitted before the court that the matter is at an advanced stage and police had already filed a charge sheet in the case in 2019.
