Ranchi, July 27: The State Health Department has alerted the Deputy Commissioners and Civil Surgeons of all the districts after finding a suspected patient of Monkeypox.
Arun Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Health Department said that symptoms like fever and blisters have been found in the girl in Garhwa. Right now she is not considered a patient of Monkeypox, but due to similar symptoms, her sample will be sent to Pune for examination. He said that preliminary testing of samples would also be done at RIMS in Ranchi.
In the meantime, in view of the fears of Monkeypox, the Health Department has directed to secure five isolation beds in all district hospitals and medical colleges.
In the instructions issued by the Additional Chief Secretary, it has been said that suspicious patients can also be found in the OPDs of hospitals. On receipt of any such information, the District Surveillance Officer should be informed.
If the report of a suspected patient comes positive in the investigation, then all his contacts of the last 21 days should be compulsorily identified.
Apart from this, the Director of Birsa Munda Airport at Ranchi said that the State government has allotted a medical team at the Ranchi airport and if anyone is suspected to have any similar symptoms then they are tested by the team doctors.
