Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court issued a non-bailable warrant against Mohammad Abdul Hakim after he failed to appear before the court despite clear directions. The order came during the hearing of a habeas corpus petition on Thursday.
Court Expresses Strong Displeasure
A division bench led by Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad expressed displeasure over Abdul Hakim’s absence. The court directed the Chatra Superintendent of Police to arrest him and produce him before the court on April 1.
Habeas Corpus Petition Filed By Mother
The case pertains to a habeas corpus petition filed by Akhtari Khatun, the mother of a boy. During the hearing, the state government was represented by Advocate General Rajeev Ranjan.
Earlier Orders And Investigation Directions
In the previous hearing, the court had raised concerns that certain facts might have been concealed. It had directed the Chatra SP to investigate the matter thoroughly and submit a report.
The court had also ordered Akhtari Khatun, Mohammad Ghulam, and Mohammad Abdul Hakim to appear in person on March 19.
Next Hearing Scheduled For April 1
As Abdul Hakim failed to appear, the court issued a non-bailable warrant against him. The matter will now be taken up for further hearing on April 1.
