Ranchi, Nov.30: The Jharkhand High Court stayed the transfer order of as many as 66 constables of fourth battalion of Jharkhand Armed Police having its headquarters in Bokaro.

The development took place in the court of Justice Ananda Sen, where petitions of affected constables including Mohan Prasad Yadav and others were listed for hearing.

The order came after Advocate Diwakar Upadhyay, appearing on behalf of the constables, submitted that the transfer order is in violation of Rule 778 of Jharkhand Police Manual and the court got convinced.

The high court stayed the transfer order and deferred the hearing in the matter till December 21 and directed the state government to file an affidavit in the matter.

The cases arose after on November 23, the ADG (JAP) issued a transfer order of 66 constables to different corps with immediate effect and 22 of transferred constables gave an application requesting to stay their transfer.

The JAP ADG instead of accepting the request directed for their immediate transfer. This aggrieved constables moved to Jharkhand High Court for a relief.
