Dhanbad, Feb 25: The factional feud emerged again in the Indian National Trade Union Cong (INTUC), the frontal labour organisation of the Congress party, within 24 hours of the formation of a new national committee.
Just after the conclusion of the two-day (February 22-23) INTUC national convention at Delhi Talkatora Stadium on Wednesday, the two newly elected secretaries Jayamangal Singh alias Anup Singh and Lalan Choubey have sent separate lists of INTUC representatives to Coal India Limited (CIL) for JBCCI meeting.
Being president of the Indian National Mines Workers Federation (INMWF), Anup Singh MLA has sent a list of four representatives Jayamangal Singh, SQ Jama, B Janak Prasad and Saubhagya Pradhan and four alternative members AK Jha, Chandi Banerjee, Gopal Narayan Singh and Birendra Singh Bisth,
Another side Lalan Choubey, president of the Rashtriya Colliery Mazdoor Sangh (RCMS) on February 24 also sent a list of four INTUC representatives – Dr G Sanjeeva Reddy, B Janak Prasad, Lalan Choubey, PK Roy and four alternative members Saubhagya Pradhan, KK Singh, Birendra Singh Bisth, and Suresh Chandra Jha.
CIL management is fixed on which list should be accepted as both have been given in the name of INTUC.
CIL had debarred INTUC from participating in the JBCCI meeting for NCWA 11 due to pending cases in court. The Kolkata High Court had recently ordered allowing INTUC representatives to participate in the JBCCI meeting.
The INMWF senior vice-president AK Jha said that the Kolkata court has ordered INMWF to send a representative. Anup Singh is the president of the Federation. So only his list is valid and legal.
“INTUC national president Dr Sanjeeva Reddy had no information about the list someone (Lalan Choubey) has sent to CIL. He took the cognizance of matte and said that he had not approved any such list other than INMWF. Disciplinary action would be taken against whoever has done this,” said AK Jha.
Interestingly in Lalan Choubey’s list name of Sanjeeva Reddy is also included.
Lalan Choubey at the meeting it was unanimously decided to request INTUC national president Sanjeeva Reddy to list his name as a representative.
In the 9th NCWA meeting, Dr Reddy, and Rajendra Prasad Singh jointly represented INTUC.
In meantime, newly elected INTUC secretary Suresh Chandra Jha was given a rousing
