The National Medical Commission (NMC) has released the schedule of admission counselling. On the basis of this schedule, students will be able to take admissions to medical colleges in Jharkhand.

Notably, admission is taken in both central and state quotas in the state’s medical colleges. The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) conducts counselling for admission under the Jharkhand quota. The Health Department has sent the recommendation for counselling along with the details of seats to JCECEB in this regard.

Colleges providing seats under MBBS quota include:

  • RIMS Ranchi (148)
  • MGM Jamshedpur (83)
  • Shaheed Nirmal Mahato College Dhanbad (41)
  • Phulo Jhano Medical College Dumka (83)
  • Manipal Tata Medical College Jamshedpur (25)
  • Laxmi Chandravanshi Medical College Palamu (100)
  • Medinirai Medical College Palamu (83)
  • Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hazaribagh (83)

Notably, permission for admissions in Phulo Jhano Medical College Dumka, Medinirai Medical College Palamu and Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hazaribagh was earlier provided in the year 2019 for the first time on 100 seats each. However, the NMC had ordered a stop on admissions in said colleges in the second year due to a lack of infrastructure and teachers.
