Ranchi, Jan 11: Kripa Nand Jha, Secretary, Women, Child Development and Social Security Department during a meeting of the State Monitoring and Implementation Committee on Wednesday said that children are the future of the family, state and country and they should be provided quality nutritious food in Anganwadi centres of the state.
“All the schemes run by the department for the physical and mental development of the children should be implemented with commitment. The government has started efforts with a grand campaign against malnutrition and anaemia by improving the health of mothers, children and adolescent girls in the state. Its purpose is to identify and treat children and women suffering from severe malnutrition and anaemia, as well as to provide adequate and nutritious food,” Jha said.
Moreover, Rajeshwari B, Director General of Jharkhand State Nutrition Mission, said that arrangements will also be made to feed eggs to children under the supplementary nutrition program in Anganwadi centres of the state.
“Make an action plan on providing quality nutritious food to the children,’ she said.
Moreover, Rajeshwari instructed the officials of the department to speed up the work progress of the summer campaign scheme.
She added that through this campaign, the system is being ensured to provide services in a time-bound manner, to create concrete and intensive monitoring and intervention infrastructure.
In the meeting, the Director General State Nutrition Mission gave necessary guidelines while reviewing the status of the weight measurement of children registered in all Anganwadi centres district-wise.
“Get the registered children weighed in all Anganwadi centres and ensure that malnourished/severely malnourished children are admitted to MTC,” the director general said.
