Jharkhand: SER train services affected due to public agitation at Bamra

Jamshedpur, Feb 22: Train services under South Eastern Railway (SER) zone were affected today in view of public agitation at Bamra station in Chakradharpur division.

The agitators who squatted on the tracks demanded stoppages of Mail/Express trains at Bamra.

The agitation is being staged in spite of the fact that four Mail/Express Trains viz. 13288/13287 Rajendranagar-Durg-Rajendranagar Express, 22839/22840 Rourkela-Bhubaneswar-Rourkela Express, 12833/12834 Ahmedabad-Howrah-Ahmedabad Express and 18477/18478 Puri – Yog Nagari Rishikesh – Puri Express have already been provided stoppage at Bamra  Station with effect from February 18.

As a result of the agitation, the train services of SER have been regulated 

Cancellation of Trains 

  • 18125 Rourkela-Puri Express
  • 18109 Tatanagar-Itwari Express
  • 22839 Rourkela-Bhubaneswar Intercity-Express
  • 18311 Sambalpur-Banaras Express
  • 22840 Bhubaneswar-Rourkela Intercity-Express

Short Termination/Short Origination of Trains

  • 12871 Howrah-Titlagarh Express journey commencing on February  22 will be short-terminated at Rourkela and service between Rourkela-Titlagarh will remain cancelled. The empty rake will run as Passenger Special from Rourkela to Howrah.
  • 22862 Kantabanji-Titlagarh-Howrah Express journey commencing on February 22 will be short-terminated at Jharsuguda and service between Jharsuguda-Howrah will remain cancelled. The empty rake will run as Passenger Special from Jharsuguda to Kantabanji.
  • 18118 Gunupur-Rourkela Rajyarani Express journey which commenced journey yesterday will be short-terminated at Jharsuguda Road.
  • 18452 Puri-Hatia Express which commenced its journey yesterday will be short-terminated at Jharsuguda.
  • 18005 Howrah-Jagdalpur Express which commenced the journey yesterday will be short-terminated at Rajgangpur and service between Rajgangpur-Jagdalpur will remain cancelled.
  • 13287 Durg-Rajendranagar Express which will commence the journey today will be short-terminated at Bilaspur.
  • 18451 Hatia-Puri Express journey which will commence journey today will short originate from Jharsuguda and service between Hatia-Jharsuguda will remain cancelled.

Apart from this, several trains including Howrah- Mumbai Duronto were running on a diverted route. A railway spokesperson said that passengers would get back full refunds for cancelled trains.
