RAJ KUMAR
Ranchi, July 5: Shaheed Father Stan Swamy Nyay Morcha today organized a tribute-cum- resolution meeting in front of Raj Bhawan on the occasion of second martyrdom day of the father, whom the NIA had arrested on October 8, 2020 from Ranchi for delivering a hate speech. Later, he died on July 5, 2021 while going for treatment to a Mumbai hospital in judicial custody.
Many social workers and representatives of various organizations and political parties from different districts, including Ranchi participated in it. They demanded action against the culprits of Stan’s death in judicial custody.
According to speakers, Swamy was tortured since 2018 in the Bhima-Koregaon case on fabricated charges and under UAPA – first by the Pune police and then by the NIA.
According to them, on October 8, 2020, the NIA arrested him in the dark of night from Bagaicha, Ranchi and took him to Mumbai where he was kept in judicial custody in Taloja Jail during which his bail application was rejected several times and basic health care was not provided to him.
Documents related to links with Maoists and a conspiracy to assassinate the Prime Minister were allegedly recovered from Stan’s computer by the NIA. On which, one of the speakers in the meeting said Swamy had repeatedly said that the documents were fake and that he was not aware of them. The NIA did not listen to him.
“The International Digital Research Organization (Arsenal) has certified that 44 documents, including these documents, were inserted into Stan’s computer by hackers from outside. It has also been proved that the Maharashtra Police was aware of this,” the speaker said.
Another speaker said: “Bhima Koregaon case was a baseless and fake case sponsored by the Modi government, aimed only at social activists, intellectuals and lawyers who speak for the oppressed and deprived sections of the country and question the anti-people policies of the government. No evidence has been found against 16 people including Stan Swamy, Sudha Bharadwaj, Gautam Navlakha, Mahesh Raut, Anand Teltumbde, who were implicated in this case. So far only 2 people have got bail after a long struggle. All others have been in custody for five years. Till date the trial of the case has not even started.”
At the end of the meeting, the demand letter attached to the name of the President was given to the Governor’s office and the demands made included action against the culprits of Stan Swamy’s judicial murder, immediate end of Bhima Koregaon case and release of all the 15 people arrested, action against Hindutva leaders responsible for Bhima Koregaon violence, repeal of UAPA and release of political prisoners.
Those addressed the meeting included Aloka Kujur, Amal Azad, Bharat Bhushan Chowdhary, Binde Soren, Bhuvaneshwar Kewat, Daymani Barla, Gautam Bose, Niranjana Herrange, Praful Linda, PM Tony, Shashi Verma, Sushma Biruli, SK Rai and Tom Kavala Been besides others.
