Ranchi, March 10: A union of tribal students, Adivasi Chatra Sangh, will organize a rally on March 12 at Morabadi ground to intensify its agitation for land record-based recruitment policy in Jharkhand and provision of Sarna religion code in forthcoming census exercise.
In order to prepare for the same rally, the students’ organization today held a meeting and explained to its members regarding the steps to be taken to ensure massive participation.
Central president Sushil Oraon informed that the tribal students have taken up the issue as it is important for the protection of tribal identity and culture besides ensuring entry of locals in government jobs.
“We do not want a census without a Sarna religion code in the census form. Apart from this, we also do not support the Jharkhand government’s 60-40 recruitment policy which opens the door for entry of 40 percent outsiders in state government’s jobs. To give a strong message in this concern we have planned a rally and planned properly to make it successful,” Oraon said.
