New Delhi, Aug 5: In an encounter on Friday in the Redwani area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district, both a civilian and an army soldier got injuries.
According to a government official, a search operation was started in the region after the government was informed that militants were present.
He claimed that as the combined team of personnel increased their search efforts for the suspected location, terrorists who were hidden there opened fire on the group, who then returned fire, leading to an encounter.
One civilian and one soldier from the army were hurt during the exchange of fire, according to him, and both were taken to the hospital for treatment. Further details are awaited.
