Shopian, Oct 19: Imran Bashir, a hybrid terrorist has been killed in an anti-terror operation in Jammu and Kashmir. He was arrested following the death of two labourers in a grenade blast in Shopian.
After 78 hours of killings of civilians in the vicinity, a confrontation between militants and security personnel broke out in the Shopian neighbourhood of Nowgam. The location of the Shopian encounter is not far from where a Kashmiri Pandit was shot.
“Based on disclosure of arrested hybrid terrorist and in continuous raids by police & security forces, another contact has been established between terrorists & Security Forces at Nowgam Shopian, in which hybrid terrorist namely Imran Bashir Ganaie killed by firing of another terrorist,” Kashmir Zone police said in a tweet on Wednesday.
