Srinagar, Feb 5: Two terrorists of LeT (Lashkar-e-Taiba)/TRF (The Resistance Front ) were neutralised by Srinagar police in an encounter that started in Zakura area of the city on Saturday morning.

According to the police, one of the killed terrorists Ikhlaq Hajam was involved in the recent killing of Head Constable Ali Mohammed Gunie at Hassanpora Anantnag.

IGP Kashmir said that incriminating materials including 2 pistols have been recovered from them.

Ganie, a head constable of the Kulgam police station, was killed by suspected militants in Hassanpora on January 29.

Gunmen opened fire near his home in Anantnag’s Bijbehara’s Tabala neighbourhood. In critical condition, he was transported to the hospital but died on the way.

Militants opened fire on a police officer in the Shopian district’s Amishijipora region earlier this week. Shabir Ahmad, an injured ASI, was transported to the hospital.
