Ranchi, May 12: The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) today accepted the challenge of former Jharkhand chief minister BJP national vice president Raghubar Das for an open debate on the issue of tribal development.

The party is ready for a debate at Red Fort what to talk about on Morhabadi ground, JMM general secretary and state spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said in a press conference organized a few hours after the BJP held a press conference alleging Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren of misusing his official position for personal gains.

Regarding the allegation of purchasing tribal land in the name of the chief minister’s wife Kalpana Soren in violation of CNT Act, Bhattacharya mentioned Das as a native of Chhattisgarh and said how come a native of another state can decide who is a tribal of Jharkhand and who is not.

The JMM leader said Das kept on waving only land documents while being chief minister for 5 years but he never took any action.

JMM party legislator Sudivya Kumar was also present on the occasion. He raised the issue of giving clean chit to IAS Pooja Singhal during the tenure of Das saying the former chief minister cannot pass the buck on government officials for the same.

The leader reiterated the party’s commitment to order a probe in all the ‘scams’ that took place during the BJP rule, saying the state government will decide on the probe agency after proper discussion.
