Ranchi, Aug.18: Minutes after BJP legislature party chief and former chief minister Babulal Marandi came to the rescue of his political advisor Sunil Tiwari in a case of sexual exploitation registered at Argora police station, JMM spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya took strong exception to this saying it was wrong on the part of  Marandi to defend the accused of exploiting a tribal girl child.

Bhattacharya said Marandi is using his party position to save his personal political advisor and instead of allowing police to probe the matter independently and ensure security to the tribal girl is mounting pressure on them.

“He, instead of cooperating with the police in the proper investigation, has become a Supreme Court judge before completion of the probe in the case and is giving him a certificate of innocence. Earlier in the case of horse-trading, he had intervened in the same way and when the facts started coming in the matter during the course of the investigation he preferred silences,” Bhattacharya alleged.

Marandi said that after his political advisor faced the threat after he filed a petition in the Supreme Court for a direction to Mumbai High Court to take up the petition of a Mumbai girl demanding a CBI probe into her charge of sexual exploitation by Hemant Soren in 2013.

Bhattacharya asked Marandi to seek an apology publically from police for levelling false allegations against them.
