JMM gives ‘West India Company’ tag to Adani and Ambani

Ranchi, Sept.27:  JMM general secretary and spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya termed the Bharat Bandh a grand success saying the vehicular movement on all the state and national highways remained disrupted as people supported the strike.

Bhattacharya was addressing a press conference at his party office in the evening.

He cursed the Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the Centre for empowering limited corporate houses of the country at the cost of common people saying 39 corporate houses are dominating 140 crore people of the country.

“Zameen Se Assman Tak Sab Corporate Ke Hawale,” he asserted.

Drawing a comparison between the present-day government in the country and the British government, he said: “Pahle East India Company Aaya tab British Sakar. Abhi Modi Sarkar Aaya, Tab West India Company.”

He clarified the meaning of West India Company saying they are two industrialists of Gujarat which is located in the Western part of India. He named Adani and Ambani saying that they focussed on agricultural land and market of the country gradually established their dominance with the help of the BJP government.

Bhattacharya on the occasion alleged Prime Minister Modi of ignoring the voice of agitating farmers saying ‘Saat Saal Tak Man Ki Baat Karne Wala Kisan Ki Baat Nahi Sun Paye.’ He said that over 1100 died during agitation but Modi did not pay any attention.

Terming Modi pro-corporate and anti-farmer, Bhattacharya said: “The government which could not waive loan amount of Rs 5000 of farmers did not hesitate to waive tax in tunes of Rs 5000 crore of corporates.”
