Ranchi, Aug.6: JMM spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya today welcomed the decision taken on the recruitment policy by the state cabinet on Thursday saying it will ensure the right to get third and fourth-grade jobs to those having born connection with the soil of Jharkhand.
Supporting the decision of making knowledge of tribal and regional languages compulsory for selection, Bhattacharya said it will help bridge the communication gap between senior administrative officers and villagers.
“Class III and Class IV employees of the state government work as a bridge between common people and senior administrative officers. Locals share their problem in local language in a better way and junior level workers having knowledge of the local language will understand their problem and communicate it properly to senior officials for proper action,” Bhattacharya said.
One of his party colleagues and state minister Mithilesh Thakur has taken strong exception to this saying two more local languages; Bhojpuri and Angika, should also be included in the list of local languages. On which, Bhattacharya said the chief minister will be the right person to comment on the same.
Notably, the Cabinet had not given due importance to Hindi in examinations for job prompting the BJP to dub it as disrespect to the official language in the Hindi belt. On which Bhattacharya said: “Raj Bhasa Hati Nahi Hai.”
Due respect to Urdu in the recruitment test ignoring Hindi and Sanskrit was taken as an appeasement policy of the state government by the BJP. On which Bhattacharya said: “Urdu had got second language status during the BJP rule. Our party has just added some local and regional languages to the list of the second state languages. One should not make any confusion. An attempt has been made to make the policy all-inclusive. There is no appeasement.”
Bhattacharya also justified a single examination for the jobs. “Earlier it was experienced that unsuccessful students after PT examination used to knock the door of court finding out some flaws in the result. It is used to delay the recruitment test and final appointment. Thus, a single test will minimize the possibility of delay,” Bhattacharya said.
Regarding injustice to local students of the general category having education outside the state, Bhattacharya said: “Local students of the general category who studied outside the state will not be a loser as the policy suggests that they will be treated local and caste certificate will be issued to them. Caste certificate is issued on the basis of land record.”
Bhattacharya, on the occasion, demanded census on a caste basis to ensure caste-wise reservation in the country and said during the BJP rule only Adani and Ambani got benefited.
Reply to a question in changing the name of Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award, Bhattacharya said: “It is mean-mindedness and the reason behind this is best known to the BJP people.”
