Mumbai, April 11: Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Jersey’, which was earlier postponed due to the Covid-19 outbreak, has been rescheduled to avoid a clash with Yash’s ‘KGF: Chapter 2’, which is set to release on April 14.
The release of Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Jersey’ was originally scheduled for December 31, but was postponed due to the Omicron virus shutting down theatres. After things returned to normal, the film’s release date was set for April 14th. However, in light of the anticipation for Yash’s second feature, the directors of ‘Jersey’ have opted to postpone the film’s release once more in order to avoid a box-office conflict.
The film offers a sweet tale about a father who returns to the game in order to fulfil his son’s goals. Shahid’s father, veteran actor Pankaj Kapur, will also play a key role in the film.
Gowtam Tinnanuri wrote and directed the film ‘Jersey.’ The film is a remake of the same-titled Telugu film from 2019, which had Nani and Shraddha Srinath in the major roles.
On the other side, the Yash-starrer ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ has been breaking box-office records with its advance bookings. The film’s significant parts for Bollywood celebrities Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon have piqued the interest of the viewers.
