Mumbai, Dec 20: Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming action thriller Dhaakad, which was slated to release on April 8, 2022, has now been pushed to May 2022.
According to the sources, the makers of ‘Dhaakad’ have decided to change the release date as many other films are lined up for release in April. However, the official announcement for the release date is yet to come.
Earlier, talking about the film, Kangana said in a statement that, “‘Dhaakad’ is not only a benchmark film for my career but will be a turning point for Indian cinema as well. The film is mounted on a large scale, and is one-of-a-kind female-led action film.”
In the film, Kangana plays Agent Agni, who takes on the twin menace of child trafficking and exploitation of women.
Directed by Razneesh Ghai, the film was earlier set to hit theatres in October 2021. However, the pandemic-induced delay and closure of theatres led to the makers slating it for a 2022 release.
