Ranchi, Aug 22: The ‘Khel Mitr’ or workers employed by the Sports Authority of Jharkhand (SAJHA) have not received their salaries since July 2022 and have been working without any pay for the last two months.
According to one of the workers (Khel Mitr) from SAJHA, they have a monthly salary of Rs. 11,895 and it has not been paid to them since July. They have last received the salary in June.
“We have been working for the last two-three months without any pay. I have been employed by SAJHA since 2019 and this is the first time in three years that we are facing such a situation with our salaries,” said the worker who requested anonymity.
There are a total of 10 ‘Khel Mitrs’ who are yet to receive their salaries from the authority.
Lagatar24.com tried to contact the newly appointed sports director sanjay singh in order to get an insight of the whole matter but he was unavailable.
Earlier, the workers had also complained that in the last three years there has been no increase in there salaries and have been working in the same payment. They said that they expected that their salaries would increase in the next few months but with the current scenario that too seems impossible.
