The Australian Test captain is returning to Sydney for recovery ahead of the national team’s tour of Sri Lanka next month. He was signed by KKR for Rs 7.25 crore. Cummins is a key element of Australia’s ODI and T20 teams, as well as the Test team, as the country prepares for an intense 18-month cricket season.
Following the Sri Lanka tour, Australia will defend their T20 World Cup title at home, have a five-Test home summer, a Test tour of India, and an away Ashes campaign. The Australians will then return to India in October 2023 for the ODI World Cup.
The KKR team management, on the other hand, has yet to make the announcement.
Notably, Cummins only played five games in the IPL this year, but he took seven wickets at a 17.0 strike rate. He made 63 runs with the bat last month, including a blistering 14-ball 56 not out against Mumbai Indians, which was the joint highest fifty in IPL history.
