Kolkata, June 13: Nupur Sharma, the suspended BJP spokesperson, was summoned by Kolkata Police on Monday for questioning in connection with her inflammatory remarks about Prophet Mohammad.
An official said she has been asked to appear at Narkeldanga Police Station on June 20 to record her statement.
Notably, Sharma’s remarks, which she made during a TV debate, have provoked violent protests across the country.
Abul Sohail, the general secretary of the Trinamool Congress’ minority cell, has also filed a FIR against Sharma at the Contai police station for her remarks.
