Lucknow, Feb 14: Ashish Mishra, the main suspect in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, walks out of jail on Tuesday after he was granted bail. On February 10, the Allahabad High Court’s Lucknow bench had granted him bail. Ashish Misra’s lawyers submitted two bail bonds of Rs 3 lakh each in regards to his bail orders on Monday.

Notably on October 3, violence occurred in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri, killing eight people, including four farmers. The incident occurred during a farmers’ demonstration before of Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya’s visit to Lakhimpur. A car driven by Ashish Misra allegedly ploughed over the protesting farmers, killing four of them. Four more persons were killed in the ensuing fighting.
