Ranchi, Oct 6: Former member of the women’s commission for Jharkhand and founder of an NGO, Torang Trust, Vasvi Kido has knocked on the door of Lower Bazar police station alleging two persons, Chandraprakash Gupta and Rajesh Kumar Singh, of attempting to grab her land in Tharpakhna on old Hazaribag Road.

Sharing a copy of information, she has given to police, Kido said the duo under a conspiracy resorted to arson on October 2 to grab the land where her brothers stay, and she runs an office. She said they intended to kill everyone as the incident took place was Sunday and everyone was resting at home.

Kido said that the fire was so big that as many as six fire control vehicle was required to douse it.

She went on to say that before they resorted to arson, they had come on September 23 for measurement of her land and threatened her family members with dire consequences in case we refuse to vacate the land which is under the possession of her family members for the last 70 years.

Asked about Singh, Kido said: “Singh claimed himself to be Bada Babu posted at the state police headquarters.” About Gupta, she informed that he is a native of Bihar settled in Kali Babu Street.

A police official at Lower Bazar police station confirmed the development saying the matter is being probed.

“Prima facie the incident of fire appears to be a case of an accident either due to a short circuit or leakage of an LPG cylinder. Now it’s being used to settle some sort of land dispute. Whatever be the case, it will be too difficult to give any conclusive statement in the matter,” a police official said adding proper investigation will be done into the matter.
