Latehar police arrest arms supplier of JJMP’s area commander, recover arms

Latehar, Dec 7: Militant Vipin Kumar, who supplied arms to Suraj, the area commander of  Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad (JJMP), a militant organization, has been arrested from Barwadih in Latehar. Weapons and cartridges have been recovered from him.

SP Anjani Anjan had received information that some members from the squad of JJMP area commander, Suraj was trying to carry out some incident with weapons. On the basis of this information, a team was formed under the leadership of Barwadih Sub-Divisional Police Officer Dilu Lohra and a raid was conducted by Circle Inspector Chandrashekhar Choudhary, SHO Srinivas Singh. After which the police team arrested a militant belonging to JJMP from near Khura High School in Barwadih police station area.

Many cases have also been disclosed by the arrested militant in the course of interrogation by the police.

Police station in-charge Srinivas Kumar Singh said that Vipin Kumar used to supply arms to JJMP’s area commander Suraj Singh for the last one year. The police have got a lot of input from the captured militant member Vipin Kumar. Police are taking action on this.

“Our entire team is working continuously on the information about the presence of any criminal and Naxalite organization in the police station area. Several arrests have been made so far through continuous raiding operations. The Sub-Divisional Police Officer has appealed to all the people living in the police station area to give secret information about any anti-social element, crime and Naxalism around them. The police team will work on it promptly,” said Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Dilu Lohra
