Jamshedpur, March 17: Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning will take place at a few places over the state today, said a weather forecast issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre.
Several places in Kolhan and central parts of Jharkhand woke up to rain this morning. Overcast conditions prevailed at many places.
Ranchi Met Centre also issued an alert of hailstorm today in isolated pockets of the state especially the eastern region. The trough from Sub Himalayan West Bengal to south Odisha was today running from the cyclonic circulation over Bangladesh to north coastal Andhra Pradesh across Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha at 0.9 Km above the mean sea level.
Weathermen predicted a gradual fall in maximum temperature by 3-4°C during the next three days, thereafter no large change in subsequent two days. Tomorrow, Saturday light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is likely at many places over the state while on Sunday and Monday light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is likely at a few places over the state.
Light rain or thunderstorm activity is also likely to take place at isolated places over the state on Tuesday. The weather condition is expected to improve from mid-week. The Met office predicted mainly clear sky and dry weather in the state from Wednesday.
Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed over the state during the past 24 -hours. The highest maximum temperature of 37.2°C was recorded at Jamshedpur while the lowest minimum temperature of 14.6°C was recorded at Simdega.
