Jamshedpur, April 1: Several parts of Jharkhand is expected to witness light to moderate rain and thunder today, said a forecast issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre this morning.
IMD’s sector-wise warning suggested thunderstorm and lightning accompanied by strong surface wind gusting upto 30-40 Kmph at isolated places over the state today.
The cyclonic circulation over southwest Rajasthan was today hovering over northwest Rajasthan extending upto 1.5 Km above the mean sea level. A cyclonic circulation lies over central Uttar Pradesh extending upto 1.5 Km above mean sea level.
The other trough from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal to north Odisha across Gangetic West Bengal at 1.5 Km above mean sea level also persists. A fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect Northwest India from the night of April 2 .
Light to moderate rain with thunderstorm occurred at few places during the past 24-hours while hailstorm was also reported at one or two places over the state.
The highest rainfall recorded was 28.0 mm at Darisai (East Singhbhum). The highest maximum temperature of 37.5°C was recorded at Daltonganj while the lowest minimum temperature of 18.2°C was recorded at Chaibasa.
