New Delhi, July 27: Like the previous days, the proceedings in the Lok Sabha started on Thursday with sloganeering by the opposition members on the Manipur issue and after a few minutes it was adjourned till 2 pm. Members of the Congress, Trinamool Congress, DMK and some other opposition parties in the Lok Sabha remained adamant on their demand for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make a statement in the House on the situation in Manipur and then hold a discussion on the subject. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla’s appeal to allow the proceedings of the House to continue had no effect on them even today.

As soon as the proceedings began, the Lok Sabha Speaker started the Question Hour and Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari answered the supplementary questions of Bharatiya Janata Party member Nishikant Dubey. During this, the members of the opposition were shouting slogans and waving placards near the seat.

The Lok Sabha Speaker appealed to the opposition members to stop raising slogans and allow the House to function. Amidst the uproar, he said that the House would not be able to run like this. He told the opposition members, this House has had the best and highest traditions and dignity. But the way you are behaving and behaving is not good for democracy and does not suit you.

He said, if you behave like this, the House will not be able to run like this. After this, about five to six minutes after the start of the proceedings, he adjourned the meeting till two o’clock in the afternoon.

Rajya Sabha proceedings were adjourned till 12 noon today after opposition parties created a ruckus demanding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement on Manipur violence.
