Daltonganj, April 5: BJP national vice president and former Chief Minister Raghubar Das said here today that the Hemant Soren government is corrupt and lethargic.
Citing an example, he said that the piped water scheme of the Sone and Kanhar rivers is making a tardy progress and in another 2 or 3 years this scheme is likely to be a non-starter.
Addressing a press conference, Dad said this ambitious piped water scheme from the two rivers was launched by his ‘double engine’ government but Hemant Soren has almost derailed it.
He said, “There is a crisis of sand. Sand is now far costlier than gold. The sand of Garhwa is going to Delhi and Noida. Garhwa has a minister too. All know what the minister is doing.”
“If sand is going to Delhi and Noida, stones of Jharkhand are going to Bangladesh. There is a loot raj and the master of it is Hemant Soren,” he alleged.
He said the chief minister’s representative is in jail. The ED has caught and jailed him but this chief minister is not having courage to retrench him from being his representative fearing the man in jail would spill all the beans which is set to damage Hemant Soren terribly, charged Das.
He recalled what he and the double engine government did between 2014 -19 and how sharply this state has sunk into the pool of corruption, incompetency and inefficiency where the rule of law has been eclipsed by the policy of the appeasement followed by the Hemant Soren government.
The BJP national vice president evaded answering as to why the party is reluctant to ask for the caste-based census. He took refuge in the reservation a policy rather, but he didn’t speak a word about the caste census or why his party is so disinclined to have a caste-based census.
Das profusely praised the mayor and s deputy mayor of the Medinirai municipal corporation here for having a drive across the river Koyal here which is at par with any drive across the river /sea in the country.
The veteran BJP leader termed JMM, Congress and RJD as a ‘bunch of looters’. He said this combination is only for siphoning off the state exchequer. This government has blundered or plundered Jal, Jungle and Jameen in the state, he alleged.
Das termed the recent violence in Palamu as a fall out of the government’s appeasement policy where the majority community is victimised all for the vote bank.
He accused the Palamu police of unleashing atrocities on the women and children all in the name of the raids. He said 3 or 4 women showed him as to how their hands were fractured during the police raid.
Das underscored Hemlal Murmu’s leaving the BJP saying the BJP is a sea and if one pot of water is taken out, the sea moves on. He said Hemant Soren has cheated Adivasis most.
He criticised the employment scheme of the government like this 60:40 etc and charged the interest of the people of the state has been destroyed.
Das was very hopeful when he said “Let no one be in any doubt. The BJP will sweep Lok Sabha polls in Jharkhand and our party will have two third majority in the assembly. There is a ground swell for the BJP. At many of the Choupals that I attended people are too anxious to see a change of government here in Jharkhand.”
