New Delhi, July 27: The World Test Championship finals in 2023 and 2025 will be held at London’s illustrious Lord’s Cricket Ground, according to an announcement made by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday.

“The IBC Board approved Lord’s Cricket Ground as the host for the ICC World Test Championship Finals in 2023 and 2025,” stated an official ICC media release, which came out on Tuesday evening.

Due to COVID-19, the WTC final in 2021 was moved from Lord’s to the Ageas Bowl in Southampton, where New Zealand defeated India to become the first WTC champions.

The ICC Board also authorised the 2023–2027 FTPs for men and women, which will be released soon.

“As representatives of current players, Daniel Vettori and VVS Laxman have been selected to the ICC Men’s Cricket Committee. Roger Harper has been chosen to serve as the committee’s second former player representative, following Mahela Jayawardene “the announcement went on to say.

The process for choosing the ICC’s new Chair, which will take place in November 2022, was also authorised by the ICC Board. The election will be decided by a simple majority, and the chosen Chair’s two-year tenure will begin on December 1, 2022, and end on November 30, 2024.

Additionally, it has been announced that Bangladesh will host the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2024, while India will host the Women’s ODI World Cup in 2025.
