Prayagraj: The Maha Kumbh 2025 is poised to generate an estimated business of over ₹3 lakh crore, making it one of the biggest economic events in India. The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) projected that the religious congregation, which is expected to witness nearly 60 crore devotees over 45 days, will significantly boost business activity through goods and services.

CAIT Secretary General and Chandni Chowk MP Praveen Khandelwal highlighted that the Maha Kumbh has established a strong link between faith and economy, showcasing the deep-rooted strength of India’s Sanatan economic model.
Initially, 40 crore attendees and a business turnover of ₹2 lakh crore were estimated. However, due to the overwhelming participation, the Maha Kumbh is now expected to host 60 crore devotees, generating business worth ₹3 lakh crore by February 26. This massive inflow has provided a significant economic push to Uttar Pradesh, creating new business and employment opportunities.

1. Boost To Local Businesses: Small and medium enterprises (SMEs), especially in food, clothing, religious items, and transportation, see a substantial increase in revenue.
