Mumbai, June 22: Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has hinted in a tweet that the state assembly may be dissolved as the political crisis in Maharashtra worsens.
“The developments in Maharashtra are leading towards the dismissal of Vidhan Sabha (state assembly),” he wrote in a post in Marathi.
The statement was made a few hours after Eknath Shinde, a dissident minister from Maharashtra, arrived in Assam after camped out at a five-star hotel in Surat, Gujarat. The BJP is in power in both states. The Sena-NCP-Congress administration is in a serious dilemma as a result of Shinde’s rebellion against the party. Shinde was rumoured to be a key lieutenant of chief minister Uddhav Thackeray. He claims at least 40 MLAs support him.
