Ranchi: Manjunath Bhajantri, the newly appointed Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Ranchi, officially assumed his role on Tuesday. The outgoing DC, Rahul Kumar Sinha, greeted Bhajantri with a bouquet in a ceremonial handover, attended by several officials from the district administration. Manjunath Bhajantri, an IAS officer from the 2011 batch, replaces Sinha, who had held the position since July 2022.
State Government Transfers Four DCs
On Monday, the Jharkhand government transferred six IAS officers, including four district DCs. Manjunath Bhajantri was appointed as the new Ranchi DC as part of this reshuffle. Shashi Prakash Singh has been assigned as the DC of Jamtara, Utkarsh Gupta as the DC of Latehar, and Manish Kumar will now serve as the DC of Pakur.
Additional IAS Appointments
In other significant appointments, Pawan Kumar was named as the Divisional Commissioner of the North Chotanagpur division, while Ranjit Kumar Lal was appointed as the Managing Director of the Jharkhand Urja Utpadan Nigam (Power Generation Corporation). The personnel department has issued orders regarding these changes.
