Daltonganj, Aug 17: A three-day camp, which started on Aug 15, by Marwari Yuva Manch, Daltonganj for the distribution of artificial limbs among the physically disabled persons concluded today with 192 registrations, said a senior convener of the Marwari Yuva Manch Girdhari Garg.
Girdhari said a technician team of the National Marwari Foundation, Siliguri was here which measured the need for the limbs of the physically disabled persons and got readied their artificial limbs.
The beneficiaries were taken care of who were overwhelmed with joy and happiness to get artificial hands and legs enabling them to start their life afresh with a sense of dignity. They said that they saw some posters regarding this distribution of artificial limbs and got themselves registered at four different centres. Some of them had come from even remote areas like places close to the UP border.
The Marwari Yuva Manch had to carry out a 3-month long exercise for this artificial limbs camp.
The running associate of the camp was Prakash Chand Jain Sewa Sadan Daltonganj. Its general secretary Suresh Jain has given all-out support to the success of the camp.
Food and shelter came free to all the beneficiaries in the camp. There was a one-legged auto-rickshaw driver who today found an artificial leg in the camp and said he was leading his life with just one leg.
Women of Marwari Yuva Manch namely Meera Kamdar, Puja Bhiwaniya, Alka Singhaniya, Lovely Modi, Guddi Poddar, Anjali Udaipuri, Neetu Kejriwal, Ranjeeta Kedia and others gave very valuable assistance to the camp.
Marwari Yuva Manch has 700 units pan India with 60,000 members.
SDPO Surjit Kumar, who graced the camp, had a great word of praise for the Marwari Yuva Manch. He termed this camp as invaluable. He said limbs are such an asset which makes a man most rich in health as those who miss any of the limbs face untold miseries in the world.
SDO Sadar Rajesh Kumar Sah in his speech said he was glad to see the poor getting artificial limbs. He said the joys and cheers on the faces of the beneficiaries were simply amazing and spectacular. He wished Marwari Yuva Manch to carry on this kind of philanthropic mission.
The SDO urged the Marwari Yuva Manch to spread the area of philanthropy.
