Daltonganj, Dec.4: The 3-days mega vaccination drive launched in Mahuadanr in Latehar on December 3 is not yielding any mega results. On the day of the launching, only 1,000 vaccinations were given, said BDO Mahuadanr, Amren Daang.

When asked about the second day of vaccination today, Daang said that it gets late in the evening to get a combined result of the vaccination in the whole of Mahuadanr.  He informed that the number stood at 550 till 3 pm today.

This figure of the vaccination is when the DC Latehar Abu Imran is camping in Mahuadanr and out on the streets meeting all parts of society to prepare them to take the vaccine. He is also said to have detoured remote areas like Dhurup and Lurgumi.

According to sources, civil surgeon Latehar Dr Haren Chandra Mahto, and his team did draw a micro plan for the mega event but it lacked strategy.

The micro plan had a list of the 14 panchayats, vaccination sites, names and phone numbers of the ANMs, rozgar sewaks etc but lacked the strategy of motivating the eligibles and sending them to the vaccination sites. Also, proper and adequate publicity of the mega drive was not done.

A local resident Shyam Prasad said that the administration offered free transportation but the result is not in accordance with the plan.

December 5 will be the concluding day of the mega vaccination drive and not much achievement on this day can be expected if the drive goes the same way.
