New Delhi, Jan 7: Arbaz Ahmad Mir, a member of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has been declared a terrorist under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act of 1967 because of his role in the targeted killings in Jammu and Kashmir, which included Rajni Bala, a female teacher.

The Jammu and Kashmir-born Mir, who is currently residing in Pakistan and working for LeT from across the border, was revealed by the MHA in a late Friday night notification.

“Mir is involved in target killing and has emerged as the main conspirator in killing one female teacher, Rajni Bala in Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir. He is also involved in coordinating terrorism in Kashmir valley and supporting terrorists by transporting illegal arms or ammunition or explosives from across the border,” reads the notification.

On May 31, 2022, Rajni Bala of Jammu was fatally shot outside of Government High School, Gopalpora, in the Kulgam district.

Mir, the son of Manzoor Ahmad Mir, is from Gufbal village in the Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir.
