Daltonganj, Aug 21: The completely dry Mirchaiya Falls in the South division of Palamu tiger reserve have refreshed, courtesy of the incessant rains for the last couple of days. Notably, the Mirchaiyya Falls had totally dried this March itself, three weeks prior of its annual routine drying up every summer.

Deputy Director South division of PTR Mukesh Kumar said, “We urge tourists to enjoy the Falls but not to indulge in any misadventure here as with waterfalls accidents are a common occurrence.”

Kumar further said that it is always safe to keep away from the flowing water. Tourists who have kids with them must not get too close to the Falls, he advised.

Bathing is strictly prohibited for both men and women. Kumar said this is in the interest of the tourists especially for the girl and woman tourist. Sources said last year some ruffians had created scene here when some girls were bathing and changing clothes there.

Kumar further added, “We have banned use of all plastic and polythene items here. Tourists are expected to abide by the rules.”

He said that if tourists carry plastic water bottles with them, then these bottles on getting emptied should not be discarded around the falls.
