Daltonganj, June 2: Miscreants have invented a novel way to strip men and women of their precious belongings in Daltonganj.
These miscreants create an imaginary scene of crime happening or happened far away on the streets asking unsuspecting men and women to be careful of their precious belongings especially gold items on the body etc and once the nervous man and woman start identifying his/her gold items these miscreants trick them to lose it without them having any doubt about it.
One such episode in the town of Daltonganj happened very recently wherein an old lady was frightened by the miscreants with an imaginary scene of crime happening ahead of her on the road cautioning her to be careful of her gold wearings and before the old woman could have sensed their mischief or trick she was by then a pathetic looser of her belongings.
Assistant superintendent of police and SDPO Rishabha Garg said, “Such mischief has been reported from other districts too where miscreants present imaginary scenes of crime just to upset the old men or old women only to strip them of their precious things in a fraction of a second.”
Garg said here we had with us the CCTV footage of one such miscreant speaking to someone on the phone but as the location is a highly congested one, the tower dump of the location is difficult to be accessed, nevertheless, police are working hard to crack it.
Garg has appealed to the senior citizens to be wary of such whispering people who frighten them with imaginary tales of crime ahead of them.
He said the Town police have been directed to further fine-tune its vigil in the town.
Residents of the town wish the town police to be more communicative than what it is now, where if a police officer talks then he gives an impression of doing a great obligatory job.
