MANOJ SINHA

Ramgarh, April 6: The body of a 27-year-old youth Naveen Mahto, who had gone missing for the last three days from Chotki Pona village under Borobing Panchayat, was found in a pond located near his house in Mrubanda.  Injury marks have been found on the young man’s face.

It is feared that after killing him, the body was thrown into the pond.  As soon as people got information about this, hundreds of them gathered near the pond.

Some villagers informed the Rajrappa police about the incident. Police station in-charge Harinandan Singh reached the spot with the police force. He wanted to take possession of the body, but the relatives started protesting.

Local villagers and relatives said that a dog squad should be brought for investigation. Even after a lot of persuasion by the police, they remained adamant about their demand. After which Ramgarh SDPO Kishore Rajak reached the spot and convinced the family members and took the dead body in his possession and sent it to Sadar Hospital Ramgarh for postmortem. From there the dead body was sent to RIMS Ranchi.
