New Delhi, June 20: Subodh Kant Sahay, a former union minister and current Congress politician, took a jab at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday.

In a speech to Congress leaders and workers, the former union minister said that whoever acts like Hitler will die like him.

“I feel he has even surpassed Hitler. Hitler had also created an organisation called ‘Khaki’ from within the army,” he said.

“If Modi walks the path of Hitler, he will die like Hitler,” he added.

However, Sahay gave explanation of his statement and said it was in reference to a commonly used slogan. “Ask Narendra Modi, he too must have raised this slogan. It’s a slogan- jo Hitler ki chaal chalega, wo Hitler ki maut marega. Ask him what path he is taking,” he told news agency ANI

Raghubar Das, the former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, reacted to Sahai’s comments to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He claimed that using unconstitutional terminology was in Congress’s DNA.

“It is in Congress’s DNA to use such unconstitutional language. I would like to remind everyone that when PM Modi was the CM of Gujarat, during the assembly polls, then Congress chief Sonia Gandhi called him “maut ka saudagar (merchant of death),” he said.
