Chandigarh, May 13: The major conspirator in the RPG attack on an intelligence facility in Punjab’s Mohali is a close acquaintance of terrorists stationed in Pakistan, according to the states’s top cop.
“The key conspirator is Lakhbir Singh Landa. He’s a resident of Tarn Taran. He is a gangster and shifted to Canada in 2017. He is a close associate of Harinder Singh Rinda, who is a terrorist based in Pakistan,” said Punjab Director General Of Police (DGP) VK Bhawra.
According to the cop, the main suspect, Lakhbir Singh, aka Landa, is in Canada. He stated that he has recently made multiple ransom calls to musicians and businesses.
“All the persons behind the attack have been identified, but the three persons who carried out the attack were yet to be arrested,” he said.
Seven people have been arrested in the case till now. Notably, at 7:45 p.m. on Monday, an RPG was shot at the third story of a heavily guarded building in Mohali’s Sector 77, prompting a Punjab alert.
