New Delhi, Nov 1: Prime Minister Narendra Modi travelled to Gujarat’s Morbi district on Tuesday where a cable bridge collapse claimed more than 130 lives. A few days after it reopened following renovation, the suspension bridge from the British era collapsed into the Machchu river on Sunday.

While the search and rescue effort is taking place in the Machchhu river, PM Modi and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel visited the scene of the incident in Morbi.

PM Modi also paid a visit to the injured patients being treated at the Morbi civil hospital. Following the disaster in Morbi, the prime minister also met with those engaged in rescue and relief efforts.
