Ranchi, May 31: As the CBI investigation into the alleged murder case of lady sub-inspector of Jharkhand Police Rupa Tirkey is underway, her mother Padmavati Orain made a written submission before the CBI alleging Pankaj Mishra and Dahu Yadav had pressurized Rupa Tirkey to establish a physical relationship which she refused.

“These two persons are so dare-devil that they offered Rs five lakh to Rupa Tirkey for providing company at the bed for one night, but she did not become ready and returned to her police station knowing fully well that she will face unwarranted result within a very short time to come. The two culprits, namely, Pankaj Mishra and Dahu Yadav, felt humiliated by the refusal action of Rupa Tirkey as they had never experienced such a situation before and they decided to commit rape upon her and slay her thereafter,” the letter addressed to the Director of CBI reads.

She urged the CBI director that both of them are politically well connected and that witnesses will dare not to depose against them before the CBI unless and until they are charged by the CBI putting their dominance on the accused persons and forwarding a message in the society, particularly in the knowledge of the witnesses that justice will be done in the case.

Rupa Tirkey was posted at the Mahila Police Station in Sahibganj district. Her body was found hanging from the ceiling at her official quarter on the morning of May 4 last year. Her body was found in a naked condition. Local police claimed that she committed suicide and arrested her friend Shiv Kanaujia on the charge of the abetment of suicide. But the family never trusted the police version and filed a PIL after which Jharkhand High Court referred the case to CBI.

Padmavati Orain alleged that Pankaj Mishra who is the MLA representative of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, and his associate Dahu Yadav were offended after Rupa Tirkey nabbed Pashupati Yadav in a criminal case. Pashupati Yadav is the father of Dahu Yadav. She said that both of them forcefully took away Pashupati Yadav from police detention from the police station.

“They harassed and humiliated Rupa Tirkey on the ground as to how she dared to put the law in motion against the persons who are associated with them. That was the moment when Pankaj Mishra and Dahu Yadav targeted Rupa Tirkey and they called her at the residence of Pankaj Mishra by sending messages through Jyotsana and Manisha and wanted to outrage her modesty by establishing a physical relationship with her,” the mother alleged. She charged Pankaj Mishra, Dahu Yadav, Manisha and Jyotsana were instrumental in the commission of rape and murder of her daughter.

She has claimed that several people of the locality were the eye-witnesses and there was circumstantial evidence indicating rape and murder. But very cleverly the district police concluded it was a case of suicide and further destroyed the evidence of rape and murder by removing the door, fan, bedding, and clothes of the deceased from the place of occurrence.

She said that the post-mortem was also most formally done without having any investigation of her private parts.

“The police did not stop only at this stage; rather it also caused the postmortem register to disappear from the place and doctors prepared the postmortem report under the instruction of an Executive Magistrate who was sent there at the instance of the Superintendent of Police, Sahibganj. No viscera was preserved for further investigation and no post-mortem was done as is usually done by a team of doctors in the natural course of affairs and these facts had clearly come before the CBI team in its initial investigation,” she said.
