Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday. According to the information received from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), he will discuss with the Prime Minister the development plans of the state and other issues including central schemes. According to the information, this meeting will start at 4 pm.

Sources told ANI, “Various development works and public welfare issues of Madhya Pradesh will be discussed in the meeting and the Chief Minister will inform the Prime Minister about the Centre’s ‘Devranya Yojana’ for Scheduled Tribes.” Along with this, Shivraj Singh Chouhan will inform the Prime Minister about the progress of the ongoing central government schemes in the state. Discussion on crop acquisition, diversification and innovation in agriculture will also be held. According to sources, another possible topic of discussion would be better utilization of funds from the State Compensatory Afforestation Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) and District Mineral Foundation (DMF).

Earlier this week the Center had earmarked Rs 400 crore to help the medical device industry to increase their capacity in the coming years under the scheme ‘Promotion of Medical Device Parks’. Apart from Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh was also given in-principle approval under the scheme. “The chief minister will also express his gratitude to the prime minister for sanctioning the medical device park in the state,” the sources said. Some of the other points of discussion include Bulk Drug Park, Digital Health Card and other programs under Suraj Abhiyan.
