New Delhi, July 6: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Wednesday resigned as Union Minister of Minority Affairs.

Notably, the former minister’s Rajya Sabha tenure will end on Thursday.

At the meeting, PM Modi praised Naqvi for his service as a minister to the nation and its citizens. The PM also praised Ram Chandra Prasad Singh, Naqvi’s fellow Rajya Sabha member.

The two Rajya Sabha members’ tenure is slated to expire tomorrow, and PM Modi’s expression of gratitude is taken as a sign that this was their final Cabinet meeting.

Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and JP Nadda met shortly after the meeting at the BJP’s headquarters in the nation’s capital.
