Mumbai: Death toll in Kurla building collapse rises to 11

Mumbai, June 28: The death toll in the Kurla building collapse has risen to eleven. The rescue operations and removal of debris are currently underway at Naik Nagar Society on Shivshruti Road, behind the ST depot where the mishap took place.

Notably, a four-story building in Mumbai’s Kurla East collapsed on Monday night. The fire brigade personnel and police arrived on the scene shortly after the event, which happened in the Naik Nagar neighbourhood. A rescue operation is underway.

Meanwhile, the state government has stated that it will pay Rs 5 lakh in compensation to the family members of those killed in the Kurla building collapse disaster. At the Rajawadi and Sion hospitals, all injured patients are receiving complementary care.
