Ranchi, Aug 8: Compared to the year 2017, the children of class three in Jharkhand have been found weaker in studies as per a survey of 2021. This disclosure has been made in the National Achievement Survey (NAS). Based on the results of NAS, the Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) has issued guidelines to the districts regarding the education of children.

JEPC, in its letter has said that as per the result of NAS 2021, students of all classes in the state have scored less marks in all subjects as compared to the year 2017. Jharkhand was 11th at the national level in language in the year 2017 in class three, while it is ranked 25th in 2021. Similarly, the rank shifted from 13th to 19th in Mathematics and from 16th to 25th in Science. The performance in other subjects has also been poor as compared to the year 2017.

The letter further states that in order to improve the educational level of the children, work will have to be done for continuous quality education in the schools. Guidelines have been issued regarding teaching and learning in schools.

Comparative reports of NAS have been sent to all the districts as well. District and block level officers along with BRP-CRP have been asked to go through information. The reports are also to be shared at the Guru Gosthi that is to be held in the schools.

Based on the results of NAS, a list of children has to be prepared. Special attention has been asked to be given in the subjects wherein the educational level is not up to mark. It has also been advised to ensure that the educational level of the children can be taken to the set criteria within the stipulated time.
