New Delhi, Aug 12: Popular singer Shivamogga Subbanna passed away from a heart attack on Thursday night at the age of 83. He breathed his last at Bengaluru’s Jayadeva Hospital.
Shivamogga Subbanna, who sang the song ‘Kaadu Kudure Odi Banditta’ in the movie ‘Kaadu Kudure,’ was the first Kannadiga to receive a National Award for playback singing.
“Had grown up listening to his amazing renditions of #Kannada Bhaavageete. His songs and unique voice will continue to mesmerise #music lovers forever…May his Aatman Attain Sadhgati Aum Shaanti,” a Twitter user wrote.

By performing songs penned by the Kannada author Kuvempu, winner of the Jnanpith Award, he became quite well-known. Several internet users turned to social media to express their sincere sympathies after hearing the tragic news.
