New Delhi, June 29: Jailed leaders of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Anil Deshmukh and Nawab Malik have moved Supreme Court on Wednesday seeking permission to participate in the floor test that will take place tomorrow in Maharashtra Legeslative Assembly.
The apex court has agreed to hear their plea today.
Earlier, former Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh and state minority affairs minister Nawab Malik’s bail was denied on June 20 by the Supreme Court to vote in the legislative council elections. Both Deshmukh and Malik were denied the right to vote in the recent Rajya Sabha elections also. The leaders of the NCP are currently being held in judicial detention on money laundering charges.
