Former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was attacked in London on Saturday. Nawaz Sharif was allegedly assaulted by a member of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, according to Ahmad Noorani, a Fact Focus reporter in Pakistan. According to reports, the attack injured Nawaz Sharif’s bodyguard.

This happened a day before Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was set to face a crucial vote on a no-confidence resolution brought by the opposition.

Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has been attacked in London by a PTI activist. Action must be taken in Pakistan against the PTI as now the party has crossed all limits. Physical violence can never be condoned. PTI must be made an example now.

Nawaz Sharif’s brother, Shehbaz Sharif of the Pakistan Muslim League (N), will be a strong contender for prime minister if the no-confidence motion succeeds.

Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam reacted to the incident by saying that individuals in the ruling party who used violence should be imprisoned.

She further stated that Imran Khan should be charged with provocation, incitement, and sedition.

“Those of PTI who resort to violence or create a law and order situation should be arrested and thrown behind bars, IK [Imran Khan] included. IK should be booked for provocation, incitement and sedition. Will be Insha’Allah. None of them should be spared,” she wrote.
